Prayer for Easter

Father,Its been a week since we celebrated the glorious resurrection of Christ yet so many of us are still hesitating at the mouth of the tomb looking out.  Through your grace we have been raised with Christ yet we watch as He walks out into a resurrected life to usher your kingdom into this world.  Still we stand at the mouth of the tomb the grave garments gripped tightly in our hands.  Father, forgive us and give us -- your Church in Miami --  the strength, the joy, the love, the faith to drop the rancid clothes of death that have enshrouded us.  Through your grace and power may we live as though our lives have been transfigured in the likeness of Christ going forth into Miami and the world.  May Miami begin to know life abundant as your church walks among the dark places bringing Christ's resurrection with them.  May this city be littered with discarded grave clothes as more and more people step out from the tomb and walk in the resurrection.Amen
