Sean Taylor

I know our LORD is pleased when we pray. He has chosen prayer as a means for us to join HIM in HIS work; and to use us to accomplish HIS work. He wants us to be available to HIM to touch the lives of others through our prayers and our acts of love and faithful witness on HIS behalf.

HE is the "air we breathe" and HIS Word is our "daily bread". The shooting and loss of Sean Taylor in the past couple of days is evidence of our need to pray. Sean was an intellegent, healthy, strong young man. He was from a good family, good schools, and a nice neighborhood. Yet he lost his life in an act of violence.

May the LORD keep Sean in HIS love and grace. We know his only hope is the "merit of our LORD Jesus Christ" accomplished through HIS death in our place on the cross. All HE suffered contributed to HIS complete atonement for our sins. In the words of the poet: "I should have been crucified. I should have suffered and died. I should have hung on that cross in disgrace, but Jesus, God's Son took my place."

May the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort...comfort Sean's family and friends and all who knew HIM or were affected by his life. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give us a spirit of unity among ourselves as we follow HIM.

LORD, I ask my brothers and sisters to join me as I ask you to reach the leaders of Miami-Dade. I ask you to make them aware of their need for you. Give them a hunger and thirst for you that only a relationship with you can satisfy. Fill them and us with your Holy Spirit. May our lives be characterised by the "fruit of the Spirit". May we receive the motivation and power to say "no" to the passing pleasures of sin"; and say "yes" to the abiding presence of God. May Your will; and Your rule on this earth be demonstrated by Your people being like you.

LORD, what would you have us do to reach many other people? May YOUR Body grow in quality and quantity to be like you. I love you Lord my strength. You are my hope and my life. "For me to live is Christ" and to died is gain."
